Working with Charles Taylor InsureTech
We are very proud of the fact that nine out of ten of our people recommend Charles Taylor Plc as a place to work. We pride ourselves on having a positive working environment where our people are empowered to make the best decisions. Here are some of the initiatives we champion within our organisation:
Learning and development
InsureTech are committed to ensuring our people are given continuous learning and development support. In addition to structured induction programmes and job training, we provide study support for relevant professional qualifications as well as a Core Learning & Development Curriculum that gives every team member access to high quality business and personal skills development programmes.
We place emphasis on learning through challenging and stretching work and offer freedom and autonomy to our people, so they can reach their full potential. We also train our managers on their coaching and leadership skills and invest in mentoring to ensure everyone is given the right support from the people around them.
Furthermore, we offer some of the very best e-learning tools to ensure that our people can learn at their own pace at a time that suits.
Diversity and inclusion
Creating a working culture where our people feel included and enabled to reach their full protentional is of high value to us. Having a workforce comprised of people with different backgrounds, experiences and skills allows us to have a better understanding of our customers and generate innovative and creative ideas to meet their requirements.
We run several activities and events in the office throughout the year to raise awareness of our differences, including the celebration of religious festivals and awareness days such as LGBT Pride and Black History Month. We also provide training for our people on diversity and inclusion issues, through online modules and facilitated inclusive leadership and bias awareness sessions for senior managers. In addition, we are currently partnered with various organisations in support of our diversity and inclusion efforts such as Stonewall and Working Families.
Health and wellbeing
We are passionate about our employees’ wellbeing and provide support beyond a simple compliance with statutory health and safety standards. Our vision is to make an active contribution to promoting and improving the wider health and wellbeing of all our employees. Through focusing on physical, emotional, financial, personal and organisational wellbeing we take a holistic approach to considering the wellness of our people, supporting employees to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle both inside and outside of work.
Some examples of the events and campaigns that we have run recently include an internal MyWellbeing Hub with monthly focus points, an Employee Assistance Programme, resilience training and an annual global step challenge – ‘CT Steps-Up’.
Agile and flexible working
Our brand-new bespoke London office has been specially designed to encourage an agile and flexible working environment, empowering our people and optimising their performance.
Within our space we have a range of areas, including quiet zones, staff break-out areas, meeting and project rooms, informal collaboration areas, private phone booths and work pods enabling employees to choose the most suitable setting for each task.
Our social committee organise events throughout the year to encourage staff to get together outside of the workplace. Recently the committee have organised a roof top party at The Sea Containers, an evening pub quiz and a summer party in the grounds of the Tower of London.
Volunteer and get involved with the local community with various projects throughout the year.
